Eligibility

1. Who can participate in ACG 2019?

The games is strictly open to full-time and/or contract employees of all private, public and non-profit organisations who are 21 years old and above.

2. How many organisations can I represent?

You may only represent one organisation in the games.

3. Can we get colleagues from other related businesses, subsidiaries or business units under our group of companies?

Yes, you may. However, your company must decide on one organisation to represent during the games.

4. Can I form a team with my friends or associates who are not in the same company or related companies?

No, you may not do so. If you would like to see them at the games, we would be more than happy to speak to them directly and reach out to their human resource manager or recreation club committee members. Additionally, you may contact our games ambassador, Jotham Lim at jotham@aitiacg.com to discuss further.

Participation

1. Can I participate in more than one sport?

Yes, you may participate in more than one sport. In the case where events are held on the same day and there is an overlap of game fixtures, the onus is on the team to make internal arrangements regarding the fielding of players for the particular game fixture.

2. Can I participate in more than one event category in the same sport? E.g. joining both men’s team and mixed team in bowling.

Participants are able to, as long as the event doesn't fall on the same day (only applicable for bowling).

3. Can I register myself in multiple teams within the same event?

No, you may only represent one team for each sport event category.

4. What will happen if I violate any of the above?

Any participant who wilfully and knowingly violate any regulations, rule, restriction, or condition made or imposed by the games committee will be subjected to immediate disqualification from further participation in all events that the participant has registered for.

5. Can we pay on my own and use our company’s name to participate in the games if we managed to form an employee team?

Yes, you may do so. The mode of payment is to be arranged internally between the employee and company. However, the participating team must seek official permission to use the company’s name to participate in the games.

6. Who is a team manager?

The team manager is a key personnel appointed by your company to assist and manage the communication, coordination and participation of all teams within your organisation.

7. Who is a captain?

The captain is in-charge of recruitment of the team and will be the point-of-contact on games day for any briefing or rules clarification.

Registration & Cancellation

1. When is the registration deadline?

  • Super Early Bird – deadline is 1 April 2019, Monday, before 2359 hrs.
  • Early Bird – deadline is 1 July 2019, Monday, before 2359 hrs.
  • Standard – deadline is 25 October 2019, Friday, before 2359 hrs.

2. Are we allowed to substitute players after deadline due to work exigencies?

Yes, you must notify the games office immediately via email. If the substitution of players takes place on the competition day, it must be communicated to the onsite games officials upon registration and before the commencement of any matches.

3. Withdrawal and refunds?

No, there will be no refunds issued after the confirmation of participation regardless of the nature of the withdrawal/cancellation.

4. Is there any refund if the organiser cancels the event?

No, there will be no refund issued if there is a cancellation of the event due to inclement weather and/or if there is an insufficient number of teams to run the event. The organiser reserves the right to cancel the event or make appropriate alternative arrangements to accommodate the affected teams.

Fees & Packages

1. Can I add more teams to my Super Early Bird package after the closing date, 1 April 2019?

Yes, you may add more teams. However, teams added after 1 April 2019 will be charged Early Bird package prices; teams added after 1 July 2019 will be charged Standard package prices.

2. Are training fees and meals on the respective games day included in the games fees and packages?

No, training fees and meals are not included. The fees and packages only cover participation in the competition and stated activities for selected representatives.

Team Query

1. How many matches does my team get to play in the games competition?

Each team will get to play at least 3 matches. The opportunity to play in subsequent matches is dependent on the team’s performance and progress in the competition.

*Do note that the duration of each match is subjected to the format of play stated in the games Info Kit.

2. Where can we get information about the games’ schedule and who we will be playing against in the games?

We will conduct a draw to determine the competition arrangement. The draw will take place only after the registration has closed and the organiser will inform all team captains and managers of the draw results. All information about the games’ schedule and draw results will be posted on AITIA Corporate Games’ website and social media pages.

3. Are jerseys or sports attire provided?

No. However, if you were to choose a bundle special, the organisers of AITIA Corporate Games will arrange with their sportswear manufacturer to kit out your team.

On a separate note, in the case of a clash of jersey colours, one team will be asked to wear bibs provided by the organiser in no order of preference.

Awards & Results

1. Is there any prize money for the top 3 teams?

No. AITIA Corporate Games is possibly the only games in Singapore that has retained her own tradition of non-monetary rewards for prize winners to stay true to its main objective of strengthening relationships, encouraging bonding and enhancing the overall wellness within various business sectors.

Others

1. Does the games Fee include insurance coverage for individual participants?

No. Participating companies are required to ensure that employees are adequately insured during their participation in the games.

2. Will food and drinks be provided?

All participating teams are expected to arrange for their own meals/refreshments during the games — some light refreshments may be served on some of the competition days.

3. Will transportation be provided to the various event venues?

No, participants are required to arrange for their return transportation at their own expenses.

4. Will complimentary parking tickets be given out at the different venues?

No, parking fees will be borne by the participants.
